The information that artworks produced in certain periods of history can provide to historians, sociologists, and even political researchers and researchers of folk culture is not hidden from any researcher. Afsaneh Najmabadi mentions that sometimes the value of these works is even higher than written texts. In this article, an attempt has been made to examine the influence of political factors and social and cultural beliefs on the art of this period, especially its paintings, with a close look at the artworks of the period of one of the important kings of the Qajar dynasty, FathAli Shah. The purpose of this research, which is descriptive and analytical, and was carried out by library and museum works, is to find the factors affecting the art of this historical period. it can be said that art, especially court monographs, played an important role in the survival and legitimacy of the government during the period of FathAli Shah. در تحقیقات و پژوهش‌های تاریخنگاری تحلیلی، آثار هنری تبدیل به ابزاری برای شناخت وضعیت جامعه، فضای سیاسی و اقتصادی حاکم و همچنین شناخت فضای شهری و عمومی ادوار تاریخی مختلف نه تنها در ایران بلکه در همۀ جهان شده است. اطلاعاتی که آثار هنری تولید شده در دوره‌های خاصی از تاریخ می‌تواند در اختیار مورخان، جامعه‌پژوهان و حتی محقیقن سیاسی و پژوهشگران فرهنگ عامیانه قرار دهد، بر هیچ پژوهشگری پوشیده نیست. افسانه نجم‌آبادی در این باره اشاره دارد که گاهی ارزش این آثار از متون نوشتاری نیز بالاتر می‌رود. در این مقاله سعی بر آن شده با نگاهی موشکافانه آثار هنری دورۀ یکی از شاهان مهم سلسلۀ قاجار، فتحعلی‌شاه، تاثیر عوامل سیاسی و باورهای اجتماعی و فرهنگی بر هنر این دوره بویژه آثار نقاشی آن مورد بررسی قرار گیرد. هدف این تحقیقِ بنیادی که با روش توصیفی و تحلیلی است و به روش کتابخانه‌ای و بررسی آثار موزه‌ای انجام گرفته، یافتن عوامل موثر بر هنر و هنرمندان این دورۀ تاریخی است. در یک جمع‌بندی کلی می‌توان گفت هنر بویژه تک‌نگاری‌های درباری در دورۀ فتحعلی‌شاه نقش مهمی در بقا و مشروعیت‌بخشی به حکومت داشته است.
