Abstract

"Problem" is one of the central topics and concepts in "social work". The current social work perspective on the problem is influenced by the empirical perspective of science over the past centuries. This perspective is different from the religious perspective, which has specific cosmological and anthropological foundations. The religious perspective on the "problem" is a fundamental and functional perspective. The words of the Commander of the Faithful (AS) as an extract of Islamic teachings can provide researchers with the possibility of comparing the social work perspective with the religious perspective on the "problem" and clarify commonalities and differences. This research is a qualitative fundamental research using the content analysis method. The research findings show that despite some commonalities in the social work and Commander of the Faithful (AS) perspectives on the problem, there are also significant differences between them. The most important differences are in the perspective on the nature and philosophy of the problem. The spirituality of the problem and its purposefulness in the view of the Commander of the Faithful (AS) are among the most important differences. These two perspectives can be exploited as complementary or independent perspectives.
