Abstract
The concept of resistance holds great importance in various societies and is not limited to military confrontations. It also plays a vital role in cultural, social, and identity-related spheres. Examining resistance from a cultural sociology perspective reveals deeper dimensions of this phenomenon. This research explores resistance in the sociocultural thought of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei. Using thematic analysis, key concepts in his ideas are extracted and analyzed. The findings show that resistance in his thought has three main components: First, resistance as a cultural and identity phenomenon preserving national values. Second, resistance and social mobilization against neo-colonialism, reflecting national determination to confront global dominance. Third, resistance as a unifying factor, fostering solidarity within society. The study concludes that resistance in Ayatollah Khamenei’s thought is not merely a political strategy but a cultural and identity-driven phenomenon. It preserves national and Islamic values, counters neo-colonialism, and strengthens social identity, enhancing social cohesion and unity against internal and external challenges.
