Abstract
The aim of the present study is to study the role of university graduates in the formation of the contemporary Tabriz carpet design system. Therefore, in order to answer the main question, how do university graduates play a role in the formation of the Tabriz carpet design system today? Research data has been collected and analyzed using qualitative and descriptive-analytical methods using library and field resources. The results of the study show that Tabriz carpet is known for the key role of informed and creative designers in communicating with the audience. In the university education system, carpet graduates benefit from both scientific and experimental skills. These designers, with university education along with practical experience in the market, can play a key role in the contemporary carpet production system with the component of awareness and creativity. Therefore, as informed and creative designers, they will provide diversity and evolution of the design and role of Tabriz carpet. Therefore, the alignment of the principles of traditional and academic design systems will be effective in the process of organizing the contemporary carpet design system.
