Abstract
Practical yoga sessions, but also theoretical yoga classes, are expanding in Iran, as in most parts of the world. Some field studies show that although yoga has positive effects on physical and mental health, especially its theoretical classes, for a smaller number of members who remain and continue the classes, it has consequences such as prejudice and blind obedience, exploitation, extreme relativism, weakening of family ties, and implicit ritual change, which are evaluated negatively from a social perspective. Since the expansion of theoretical yoga knowledge in our current society, whether in the form of independent classes or together with practical exercises, is taking place and its continuation is also very likely, analysis and logical inference of the way of encounter whit this social reality is inevitable. An encounter that pays attention to the harms caused by creating coercion and restriction in society, recognizes the positive psychological and physical effects of practical yoga and its spread in the current world, cares about the values and culture of society, and aims to prevent the growth of the aforementioned negative consequences and maintain social order.
