The Relationship between Irrational Ambition and Tendency to Addiction

Abstract

The aim of the present paper is to study the effect of irrational ambition on tendency to addiction in treatment and rehabilitation clinics. The study, which was a test of a theoretical innovation, was conducted on a sample of 218 people, including 168 addicts as experimental group and 50 normal persons as control group, using a survey method. The results showed a significant relationship between irrational ambition and tendency to addiction. The level of irrational ambition was also different according to kind of drug (Shishe and Cocaine). The highest level of ambition in menwas found in financial and economic affairs, whereas the highest level of ambition in women was about prosperity in family life
