An Investigation of the Social Trust in Different Occupational Groups

Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to investigate the social trust of Iranians in different occupational groups. The research method is descriptive survey and the research sample includes 4500 fifteen years old or older residents of the big cities of the provinces that have been selected by stratified sampling. The research tool is a questionnaire made by the researcher. Data have been statistically analyzed through descriptive and inferential methods.
Iran society is a developing society which has some cultural lags in it. The results can be understood with regard to this general background. The result shows that people who occupy positions in public sector especially in educational sector invite more trust than the ones in public sector especially the private business sector.
