Philnathropy is one of the concepts that Iranians have been familiar with throughout their history. The culture of philanthropy has not always been the same in different periods. It seems that the attitude towards philanthropy in Iranian society have changed along with the cultural and social changes of Iranian society. In this paper, after interviewing 30 participants, the interviews were categorized using the qualitative content analysis method and three main categories were extracted. The first category is the differentiation of philanthropy, which means the specialization of philanthropic activities in Iran, people's more specialized view of charities and philanthropy, the expansion of mass media in this area, and a series of changes that have raised philanthropy as an independent social field. The second category is the downplaying of philanthropy. In fact, according to the participants in the research, the general trust of the people in good deeds has decreased and the charitable and benevolent activities of the people have decreased. the last category is structural upheavals, which refers to the aggravation of the situation of the needy and the turbulent economic situation of the Iranian society and the role of these upheavals in changing the values, attitudes and implications of charity.
