Abstract

The current study's goal is to examine the themes of the designs seen on Safavid-era coins (Hamadan Museum ) .This study aims to evaluate a sample of Safavid period coins from the Hamedan Museum using a descriptive-analytical method in order to provide answers to the following questions: 1. What are the concepts behind the lion and sun motif's frequent usage? 2. How do the general public's thoughts and knowledge relate to the existence of other human, animal, plant, geometric, hunting, etc. motifs? 3. How do copper coin’s function and what effect do they have on the economy? In accordance with the succession of Imam Ali, following the Holy Prophet, the research findings show that the lion and sunemblem has religious connotations in order to communicate the most fundamental message of the Shi a faith.Additional themes convey old symbolicconcepts with the main axes of Islamic thought, and the level of awareness of the general public in the social classes as the audience of these coins has been transferred. It also responds to the religious beliefs and convictions of the community.
