The present article examines the pathology of the performance of student scientific associations and cultural‑artistic clubs at Lorestan University and seeks to provide an improvement model for effective interaction with society and industry. The study is based on a descriptive‑analytical approach and relies on document analysis and qualitative content interpretation. The findings indicate that although these organizations possess considerable potential for enhancing student participation, developing practical skills, and strengthening university–society–industry relations, their actual performance remains limited and largely confined to internal university activities. The study identifies four major categories of barriers affecting their effectiveness: structural problems, managerial weaknesses, cultural limitations, and communication gaps. These barriers have prevented the full realization of the educational, social, and developmental capacities of these organizations. The article concludes that through strategic planning, institutional support, and the establishment of sustainable communication channels with social and industrial actors, student scientific associations and cultural‑artistic clubs can become effective mediators between the university and the broader community.
