In the contemporary era, sport reflects societal values and identity dynamics. However, women's presence in Iranian stadiums faces profound structural, institutional, and cultural barriers, transforming their experience into a highly stressful process. This qualitative study, employing a descriptive-interpretive phenomenological approach, explored the lived experiences of 13 women residing in Yasuj, who were selected through purposive sampling with maximum variation. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews and analyzed using Colaizzi's seven-step method. The findings revealed that women's experience of attending stadiums constitutes a multi-stage process of "constant negotiation" with masculinized norms, encompassing five main thematic categories: pre-entry mental and familial engagement; encountering the masculinized space and the intense feeling of "being watched"; managing social boundaries and marginalization; self-monitoring and filtering emotions; and identity redefinition accompanied by existential duality. To adapt to this space, women are compelled to downplay their multi-layered identity, effectively resulting in the "summoning of gender" and the exclusion of other identity dimensions. This process entails psychological consequences such as feelings of alienation, chronic mental fatigue, and a diminished sense of agency. The study underscores the urgent need for a fundamental revision of cultural and structural policies concerning women's access to public sporting spaces.
