The expansion of digital media and the emergence of new social forces have profoundly reshaped traditional structures of power, participation, and representation in recent decades. Within this transformation, celebrities—possessing symbolic capital and media influence—have become significant political actors. Using a descriptive-analytical method and library-based research, and drawing on Bourdieu's field theory, symbolic capital, and celebrity politics literature, this study examines the multifaceted nature of this phenomenon. Findings indicate that digital media have enabled a shift of power resources from formal institutions toward actors with symbolic capital. Celebrities, acting as bridges between society, media, and politics, have increasingly contributed to public opinion formation, political mobilization, and the redefinition of participation and representation. However, this process also entails challenges such as the personalization of politics, declining institutional mediation, the dominance of fame over political rationality, accountability deficits, and the commodification of politics.
