Abstract
The Islamic Revolution of Iran in 1979 has had profound impacts on the cultural and political identity of Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the Shia community. This research, conducted using a qualitative approach and in-depth interviews with religious, cultural, and social experts, systematically analyzes the collected data using thematic analysis to identify key themes and patterns. The findings indicate that the Islamic Revolution of Iran, as a successful anti-colonial and Islamic awakening model, has been an inspiration for the youth and religious scholars of Kashmir. The messages of the revolution, particularly the teachings of Imam Khomeini, have fostered religious unity between Shias and Sunnis and strengthened the Islamic identity in Kashmir. Kashmiri religious scholars have played a significant role in this process by promoting the teachings of the revolution and organizing joint religious gatherings. Kashmiri youth, inspired by the revolution, have also engaged in demonstrations and cultural struggles, utilizing media to disseminate revolutionary concepts. The conclusion shows that the Islamic Revolution of Iran has not only contributed to religious solidarity in Kashmir but has also led to the political and cultural awakening of the region's Muslims. This revolution continues to serve as a source of inspiration and resistance in the freedom and anti-colonial struggles of the Kashmiri people, with its effects observable in the society and political and social activities.

Introduction
The Iranian Islamic Revolution of 1979 profoundly influenced the cultural and political identity of Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir, especially the Shia community. Historically, Islam has been integral to the region's identity since the 14th century, primarily due to the influence of Persian scholars like Mir Syed Ali Hamdani. The revolution, led by Imam Khomeini, emerged as an inspiring model of anti-colonial and Islamic awakening. This study explores the extent of the revolution's impact on the unity and resistance movements among Kashmiri Muslims, particularly its influence on promoting solidarity between Shia and Sunni communities and its role in shaping the political and social consciousness of Kashmiri youth.
Materials & Methods
The research employs a qualitative approach, using in-depth interviews with religious, cultural, and social experts in Jammu and Kashmir. These interviews aimed to collect detailed insights into the influence of the Iranian Revolution on the region’s Muslim identity and social movements. The data gathered were analyzed systematically through thematic analysis to identify key themes and patterns. The method included breaking down the data into smaller components, coding, and forming thematic networks to highlight the connections and impact pathways of revolutionary ideas in Kashmiri society.
Discussion & Result
The findings reveal that the Iranian Revolution served as an influential model for Kashmiri Muslims, promoting religious unity and anti-colonial sentiments. Imam Khomeini's messages, emphasizing Islamic unity and resistance against oppression, were particularly well-received among Kashmiri scholars and youth. Religious leaders in Kashmir actively propagated these revolutionary messages by organizing joint religious gatherings, translating revolutionary speeches, and leveraging local media outlets. Kashmiri youth also took an active role by engaging in cultural and social demonstrations inspired by the revolution’s principles, further promoting solidarity and resistance against Indian colonial rule. The revolution’s impact extends beyond religious unity, contributing to a broader cultural and political awakening within the region.
Conclusion
The Iranian Islamic Revolution has been instrumental in redefining the collective Islamic and political identity of Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir. The promotion of revolutionary ideals fostered unity between Shia and Sunni communities, reducing sectarian divides and encouraging collaboration towards common Islamic goals. The involvement of Kashmiri scholars and youth, inspired by the Iranian model, has resulted in the formation of cultural resistance groups and the use of modern media to disseminate revolutionary concepts. The ongoing influence of the revolution is visible in the continued struggle for political freedom and social justice among the Kashmiri population, showcasing its lasting impact on the region's socio-political and cultural landscape.
